Ann is an education consultant specialising in the development and implementation of qualifications frameworks and quality assurance systems and standards. She advises governments, government agencies and education institutions in Australia and internationally and she sits on the governing boards for education-related agencies in Australia and overseas. Her experience spans higher education, vocational education and school education and she has a particular interest in the relationship between graduate capabilities and labour market requirements. Her career of more than thirty years in education has been committed to education as the key to economic, community and individual advancement.
Ann was the executive head of the Australian Qualifications Framework Council until 2013 when she left to pursue her consulting practice. She was appointed in 2008 to lead the review of Australia’s long-established national qualifications framework. She was the principal architect of the Australian Qualifications Framework 2011 and 2013 and led a suite of programs to support its implementation in Australia’s three education sectors. Prior to this, Ann was a senior executive in the South Australian Government responsible for the quality assurance of vocational education and non-university higher education. During this decade, she played a significant role in shaping national tertiary education policy and served on and supported national committees in the sector at the highest levels. She has held senior teaching and policy positions in tertiary education.
