World Bipolar Day

Vincent van Gogh was born on this day in 1853. It was thought that he suffered from bipolar disorder and today, on his birthday it is World Bipolar Day.

The day is about removing the stigma that is attached to bipolar, create conversation and to celebrate recovery.

Bipolar Disorder used to be known as manic depression and affects 2.9% of Australians over 16. It is a chemical imbalance in the brain which causes mood swings. While there is no cure, it can be very well managed with medications, counselling, and support.

Join the Bipolar Bubble Challenge and show your support – head down to the park and blow some bubbles or run yourself a nice warm bath and let the bubbles overflow! There is even a recipe to make your own bubbles here
